Glen of Rothes trout and coarse Fishery

Fishing started the first half of the week steady and buzzers continued to work well and fish receptive to flies feeding well. The second part of the week with winds, nigh on gales at times made it a different matter as the water churned and darkened and lures ,such as yellow dancers and cats whiskers were needed to tempt fish and it became much harder at the back end as they became less keen to take.If we could lose the winds, some good fishing will be had.On the positive which ever way the winds blow you can always cover the lochs with a cast .Some of this weeks catches in no particular order were,Geoff Hakin 15 with a nice 5lb Brown returned,Mike Steven with a 4lb 8ozs fish,Gordon Grant 18,Rob Harding 19,Slater Scott 15,Ian Munro 8,Grahme Murray 9,Tom Anderson 9.Most others managed an average of 2 to 4 fish per session and plenty of Blues were caught and another char appeared for angler Chris Johnston.

Coarse Loch
Fish are now coming to the net more now that the weather is warming up a little, with carp featuring more in bag returns.Roach,Bream, rudd and ide were caught by anglers and also a nice perch.best baits were meat and soft pellet.

Millbuies trout fishery

The 16 acres of water being sheltered to most winds with its tree lined banks offered anglers some good fishing this week and with the lochs being mature it was those on naturals and buzzers who did best.Lures came a poor second.Ryan Williamson had 7,Stuart Geddes 2,Gavin Chetty 6,David McKay 25,Alfie Campbell 1,Richard Davies 7,Okane McLennan8,Ronnie Ewen 30,Sandy Brown 6,Rob Whitworth 2,Hamish Higgins 12,George Stewart snr 3,George Stewart jnr 6,Ian Yeaman 2 and Grahme yeaman 3.Best flies have been buzzers, kate Mclarens, black spiders with damsels working at times.
