Caught by a good friend up in shetland today. The start of the trout season for me can't come quick enough! Don't think ill be catching any of these on the Don any time soon though!
 
I'm sure there are a few similar size ones kicking around though. 8.5lbs.

It's a beauty indeed. I'm also pleased to report it was put back to fight another day (in fact, the captor was sure it was the same fish that was caught by someone else last year). That's what catch and release is all about for me.  :z16

Monster Tosh.

Know a few Shetland Trophy hunters myself (including the famous DP) but know that's not one of his as his normal rod handle gives the game away.
Another buddy who works at the school has been lucky with a Rod Bender or two as well.

Didn't manage over to the northern loch last visit but certainly on the agenda for next years visit.

BTW crackin digs guys, cheap and plenty room for all if any fancy making it a big Gathering.
