Yes, I noticed that too - but to me, all I see is the sideplate from a shotgun (the black area) ! I know it is progress and the lovely flowing lines suggest a fly line being cast, but I still can't get the other image out of my head.  I liked the old logo, maybe just old fashioned :-)
