Mike,
I am down in Azerbaijan at present and thoroughly enjoyed the magazine. In particular the piece from Alan about looking at fishy pictures from the past when you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I went back to my hotel room and proceeded to look at some pictures from past trips it was great. I have attached a picture of my mate Adam with a fish from one of the limestone lochs in Durness. I am sure that you would agree that it is a gorgeous fish, it was around the 4lb mark and was caught on a size 14 Connemara black. Only a little while till the Tay opens so I will have to keep looking at photos till then.

The photo was taken by my other mate Ronnie who was in the boat. I had told them that I was fishing off the bank because this loch fishes best off the bank. I had a good number of fish up to 2lbs that day but the guys in the boat proved just how much I know about the loch, as usual the fish know better than we do.

Jim,
it is troot like that (we have caught bigger) that draw me and the boys back to the limestone lochs year after year. We have North Uist and Assynt both of which are special in their own way but the quality of troot in the limestone lochs are amazing. Sometimes you would swear that they are empty but every now and again they give us a brief glimpse of what they can produce and it is magic.

Feel free to join in sometime if you want.

Alan and Jim,
you are more than welcome. Maybe we can organise a forum trip. There is a cottage that  we rent which is extremely comfy and can sleep up to 6 people. If we have 6 then it is only a tenner each per night.

Gent's,

Don't listen to my father.  The limestone lochs are terrible!

I think they should be left well alone so as I am the only one who has to suffer them... :X2 :X2 :X2
