While sitting at home bored out off my skull as i can't fish for weeks yet(broken wrist) was wondering if brownies on the river would take lures e.g cats whisker,viva,wsw.Was watching fishing prog's on TV and a guy was fishin for rainbows on the river(US)with lures to devastating effect.Has anyone fished this way over here?Does it work?And is it prohibited/frowned upon?

Yes it works, yes I have caught on them and yes, people did not approve!..lol

I dressed up Sculpins etc and fished them on a fast sink line along the edge of the bank in the evening.

I also caught using Missionarys, Sweeny Todds and large muddlers.
