Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The predicted warmer weather came with a vengeance but the hoped for result of surface and sub surface activity did not materialise as the bright glare of the sun kept the fish deep. However, sport has been good with most anglers enjoying reasonable catches and 15 fish in the 5-6lb range was recorded. Best catches of the week fell to:

A Murray, Gardenstown, 40 fish, (Orange Fritz), G Burton, Gardenstown, 15 fish, (Pink Blob), A Forbes, Aberdeen, 12 fish, (White Fritz), A Murdoch, New Deer, 8 fish, (Silver Line), J Murison, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (Blob).

With temperatures in the mid twenties until mid week, we can expect that various lures will be the best tackle but as the temperature drops a few degrees we can expect more surface activity. We will, from Friday, be open till 10:00pm so that we can hopefully enjoy an evening session "on the dry".

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and visitors are welcome. Boats, rods and tackle is available for hire and the opening hours are 8:00am till 8:00pm until 31/05/12 and 8:00am til 10:00pm from 1st June. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
