A week where the weather did not adversely affect the fishing conditions until Friday when heavy rain led to more coloured water. Being in an intensive agricultural area we are affected by the activities of our farming neighbours in that when crops are being harvested we gain a lot of natural feed from insect life disturbed by the combining activity but adversely when the crops are cut any rainfall now falls on "black ground" without the vegetation and tends to run off more easily as coloured water. No complaints, we can still catch fish as the top anglers for this week demonstrated.

When studying the variety of "end tackle" it begs the question as to how important fishing depths are in relation to the various tackle employed. A question that could run on unanswered for a long time.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water where beginners and visitors are welcome and booking is not necessary. The fishery is open from 8:00am til 7:00pm everyday and closing times will be adjusted according to daylight hours.
