Just got back from a business trip to the Czech Republic, lots of Czech Nymphs , not the kind you are thinking about (or maybe it is)  :z4
I would definitely recommend it for a holiday or a long week-end. Flights to Prague via Heathrow are circa £250 return, though you may be able to get cheaper flights by booking well in advance. We were in Pzlen which is about an hours drive from Prague, it’s a beautiful historic city around the size of Aberdeen , difference is its £0.80 for a pint of the local Urkel Pilzen , this is where Pilzen beer was first made so if you are a beer lover its heaven  :z16
We stayed at the Marriot which was a superb modern hotel , it was only £50 a night and right in the centre o town, although there were some grand old local hotel that I dare say would be a lot cheaper. A meal out for two with starters main courses and wine was £30 , Wild Boar steaks mmm
The town is also the confluence of 4 rivers so I would imagine there would be decent fishing nearby , I did find the local tackle shop  but by the time we concluded our business it was closed.

All in all a beautiful country , cheap food ,drink and accommodation , clean, no litter  anyone fancy a wee fishing trip sometime.

Ahem...LAGER lovers maybe, not beer ;)  :z18

I have been looking at some of the former "Iron Curtain" destinations for a while as there are some very interesting and large fish to be caught. Would love to visit Prague, purely for the architecture of course!! ;)

Thanks for the wee report.

At £0.80 a pint you would drink lager and like it  :z4

I did not get to spend any time in Prague apart from the airport, the airport is a superb modern facility though. They architecture in Prague would no doubt be supeb , but I think the Stag and Hen parties have spolied it a bit, in that its a bit too commercialised now and there is a rip off the tourist  industry. Also like all capital cities it is more expensive.

Talking about stag parties , as I was not paying for the flights so  I went  via Amsterdam - Prague which is more expensive , there was a Stag Party from Aberdeen on the flight to Skipol , now I may have been like that when I was there age  :oops but they were truly embarssing , the flight left at 08:30 and they were all bladdered before the flight took off racially abused a black passenger etc etc I was ashamed to be Scottish  :oops
