I live in pitmedden and was thinking of trying the river (if i get time) so what options do i have for fishing any of the 3 local waters.
Is there a permit for all
Is there a daily or yearly permit
Does the permit allow for brownies as well as sea trout and salmon
Whats the costs of permits
What clubs is there ie ellon, methlick, inverurie....

Sure i'll think of more.

Dave

For the Don and Urie , the roving ticket which has been mentioned on other threads would be your best bet.

For the Ythan , there is a club at Methlick or you can get day tickets , same at Fyvie.

Cheers jim.

What about maps of where you can fish on any of the above.
On the council site what do they class a resident and non resident, is it if you reside in the shire?

Hi Dave,

You can download the maps from the weblink that Jim gave, click on the beat ie Inverurie and scroll down to the bottom.

If you decide to buy a permit you actually get copies of the beat maps, they are better quality ones than the ones on the website.

Link again:

I think a resident is now Aberdeenshire.

Regards,
Bri.

ps, after having a further look there are only maps for Inverurie & Kintore.

You can join ADAA as you live within 25 miles of the City of Aberdeen. They have over 30 mile of fishings on the Dee, Don and Ythan. also loch fishing at Loirston Loch or the Parkhill fishery. Apply now for membership for season 2010.

look them up at www.adaa.org.uk

Do I detect a hint of jealousy there?  If you live outwith the 25 mile limit you are welcome to purchase a visitors daily or weekly ticket for most of the beats.

I think you might find Jim was talking about the Council waters :wink
