Ice free fisheries?
« on: 02/12/2008 at 14:25 »
Hey All,

With all the nasty weather are there any places that tend to ice over less? Me and a few friends had planned on trying out Insch this Sat but they are reporting the lochs being mostly frozen over.

Cheers
Cam

Hi Cam

Your closest bet for ice free water in most conditions would be Braeside fishery, just outside Peterhead. I'm sure "jedi" Jim would suggest there too :wink

Best wishes

And whats wrong with the North Sea? Fast sink line, whire clouser minnow...might pick up a pollock or cod this time of year :)

Mike

It is likely to be the best bet locally , saying that it was fishable on Saturday but half of it was still frozen over.

It's Cameron we're talking about - he'd probably arrive at the rocks and realise that he'd left his head on his pillow! :z4

Cameron

I only fish there I don't run the place , there is a contact number on the link to Braeside on this site . Jim Hardie is the guy who owns it , he will have a spare rod.
