Hi all.
I'm basically a complete novice to the sport of fly fishing, only having just bought the kit and gone along to my local trout pond a month or so back. Already had my fair share of hooks zinging past my lugs and many lodging themselves into whatever apart from the water. And as for the casting and presentation bit - well you'll all know were I'm coming from.

Was out yesterday morning and met forum member "bigtroot".
What a gentleman!! Fantastic knowledge of the sport.
In the not so inclement weather he stood and gave me a number of usefull tips with regard to line, flies, presentation, in fact the whole caboodle. But more importantly a sense that as a beginner I've a whole lot to learn in the art of fly fishing.
