I beleive there was a 12-1/2 lb Sea-Trout caught on the fly in the Ugie in early July. A craking fish for any river.

It certainly is a cracker .

I have not fished the river for many years and only really have excellent memories of how 'it used to be'.
I believe that commercial over exploitation of the seatrout resource spoiled the fishing for many years.
The river is now in goods hands and just as importantly the netting rights reside there also .
Hopefully the fishing and the netting will be run in balance and that the river may once again become as productive as it was in the past.
