Description : Brux Fishings on the River Don consists of a small section of left bank fishing from the "Jenny Gow Pool" to the "Buchts Pool" ( sandwiched between Kildrummy Water and Ardhuncart Fishings ), but is mainly right bank fishing from the "Boat Pool" down as far as the Bithnie Fishings. There is also a small section above this which covers the "Mill of Brux Pot".

Brux fishes well for salmon from mid May through to the end of the season, providing there is plenty of water. The sea trout and brown trout fishing is very good indeed, but as with most beats on the upper River Don, the better quality browns do have a habit of getting a bit tricky to catch after May. This beat has some lovely fly water which responds well to 'big water' and along with neighbouring waters at Ardhuncart and downstream on the Littlewood Estate, it is possibly one of the most under rated and under fished stretches of the River Don.

Access to the beat is via the Ardhuncart road which is roughly 5 miles from the Forbes Arms Hotel, (Bridge of Alford) heading towards Mossat on the A944. Before turning left to Strathdon there is a left turn to Ardhuncart, go over the bridge, turn left over the second bridge and bear left to the lodge.

The most productive flies for brown trout are : March Brown, Greenwell's Glory & Spider, Black Spider, Iron Blue Dun, Olive Dun, Olive Quill, Invicta, Silver Invicta and Wickham's Fancy.

The maximum number of rods per beat is : 4
