Nearest town or village : Alford
The Ardhuncart fishings cover approximately 2 miles of left bank fishing and 1 mile of right bank, downstream from "Cleek Him In Pot" at Milltown of Kildrummy to the point where the Mossat Burn enters the River Don. There are nine named pools on the beat, but of particular note are the "Brig Pool" at Ardhuncart and the "Jock Reid Pool" at Milltown of Kildrummy.
Ardhuncart fishes well for salmon from mid May through to the end of the season, providing there is plenty of water. The sea trout and brown trout fishing is very good indeed, but as with most beats on the upper River Don, the better quality browns do have a habit of getting a bit tricky to catch after May. This beat has some lovely fly water which responds well to 'big water' and along with neighbouring waters at Brux and downstream on the Littlewood Estate, it is possibly one of the most under rated and under fished stretches of the River Don.
The most productive flies for brown trout are : March Brown, Black Spider, Olive and Blue Dun
The maximum number of rods per beat is : 4 ( possibly 5 if in one party )
Day fishing permit (brown trout only) : is £7.00
Day fishing permit (brown trout, sea trout & salmon) : is £14.00
